The Edge to Edge Expedition is gathering serious momentum, and we are incredibly proud to introduce the organisations helping us bring our biggest challenge yet to life.
Supported by Scottish Canals and LNER, with nexus24 and Edinburgh Self Storage joining us as Expedition Partners, and Eskmills and Red Equipment as Supporting Partners, the expedition is backed by organisations that understand both the scale of the challenge and the lasting difference it could make.
Their support is helping Edge Group Scotland prepare to travel more than 50 miles across Scotland’s Lowland Canals, raise £20,000 towards a third minibus and create an unforgettable real-world learning experience for the young adults at the heart of Edge.

We are incredibly proud that the Edge to Edge Expedition is supported by Scottish Canals.
From the earliest planning stages, the Scottish Canals team has shared its knowledge and helped us understand the practicalities of taking a Mega-SUP across the Lowland Canals. Its support will also enable our team to transit the Falkirk Wheel on the morning of the second day — a truly unforgettable part of the expedition.
We are also delighted to have the support of LNER, building on an already valued relationship with Edge Group Scotland.
LNER and its Passenger Assistance team at Edinburgh Waverley have created practical travel-training opportunities for our programme groups, helping young adults build confidence and develop essential real-world travel skills. The Passenger Assistance team will also help raise awareness and funds for the expedition through planned activities at the station throughout the year.

Alongside its generous financial support, nexus24 is going above and beyond to help us capture and share the scale of the challenge. Its team will provide professional drone footage at key points, including the Falkirk Wheel and the Edinburgh finish, while also supporting our public relations activity to help the expedition reach a much wider audience.

The challenge they’re helping bring to life
This September, Edge Group Scotland will celebrate its tenth birthday by taking on its biggest challenge yet: more than 50 miles, over two days, on one Mega-SUP.
On Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September 2026, the Edge to Edge Expedition will travel from Speirs Wharf in Glasgow to Edinburgh along Scotland’s Lowland Canals.
Our relay team will paddle and portage its way across the country, transiting the Falkirk Wheel before continuing towards the finish line in Edinburgh.
It is an ambitious challenge; exactly as a tenth birthday celebration should be.
Ten years of going further
For ten years, Edge Group Scotland has supported young adults who have learning disabilities, are autistic and/or have other additional support needs to build confidence, develop practical skills and move towards greater independence.
The expedition brings that approach to life. Our programme groups are already contributing through planning, fundraising, communications, event preparation, support roles and cheer squads, while some will also paddle sections of the route.
Every role creates opportunities to build teamwork, confidence, communication and problem-solving skills in a real-world setting.
Raising funds for a third Edge minibus
The expedition aims to raise £20,000 towards a third minibus for Edge Group Scotland.
Our minibuses allow programme groups to access workplaces, volunteering, outdoor activities, travel training and community-based learning. A third vehicle would help us create more opportunities and reduce the limitations caused by transport availability.
The expedition will last two days, but its impact could be felt for years.
