Our second Sam - the same high standards, bringing her own distinct expertise. Sam brings extensive experience in curriculum design, education, and programme leadership, leading the development of Edgeβs Academy and accredited pathways to ensure young adults achieve meaningful, recognised outcomes.

I learnt to swim as an adult which was tricky and I did a bungee jump (a long time ago).

I enjoy going to the gym and seeing my personal trainer every week. Walking, with or without the dog. Travelling.

Samβs Professional Background
Sam is Edge Group Scotlandβs Curriculum Development Manager, leading the design, development, and delivery of our Academy and all Qualifications Scotland pathways. A GTCS-registered teacher, she brings over 20 years of experience across education, curriculum design, and programme leadership in both the UK and internationally.
Sam is a highly experienced, GTCS-registered teacher specialising in literacy, attainment, and inclusive practice. She is highly skilled in curriculum design and intervention development, with a proven ability to turn complex educational frameworks into accessible, high-impact learning. She has worked closely with local authorities, Education Scotland, and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes and embed robust, evidence-led practice.
As the architect of Edgeβs Academy, Sam is responsible for creating a structured, accredited learning model within our social care setting β translating complex educational frameworks into accessible, engaging pathways that support real progression. An experienced facilitator and leader, she has delivered professional learning to large groups, led cross-sector collaboration, and supported teams to raise standards and improve outcomes.
At Edge, Sam is embedding accredited, outcomes-driven learning at the core of our programmes β strengthening progression routes and ensuring every young adult has the opportunity to achieve meaningful, recognised qualifications.
